Prairie Aster, also known as Tahoka Daisy, is a winter annual or Biennial in southern regions and commonly found in the Great Plains and Southwestern regions of the U.S. Prairie Aster reseeds readily and will colonize disturbed or over-grazed sites quickly. It grows best in sandy or well-drained soils. It blooms from summer into fall and attracts a wide variety of pollinators.

As the plant grows taller, it tends to become top heavy and may need support or staking. The lower leaves may wither in dry weather.
