Strawberry Clover is a perennial legume that grows to 14 inches tall and produces pink to purplish red flowers. Plants produce creeping stems and can spread. When the seed is ripe, the flower heads become red and resemble strawberries. It will add nitrogen to the soil and is ideal for including in pasture and grass mixtures to provide food for pollinators. Forage and seeds are attractive to big and small game as well as upland birds.

Sowing: Direct sow in late fall, planting just below the surface of the soil and compacting the soil well. For spring planting, mix the seeds with moist sand and store in the refrigerator for 30 days before planting. Keep the soil lightly moist until germination.

Growing: Water seedlings until they become established. This plant grows rather slowly. Since they prefer moist soil, mature plants have limited tolerance for drought. They thrive in wet soil, even growing well in prolonged flooding. These plants adapt well to many soil types including clay. This plant attracts bees and butterflies, and spreads by stolons to form a thick ground cover.

All multiple orders of the same seed are put in the same bag. For example if you order 500 beefsteak tomato seeds x 3 then 1500 seeds will be put in the same bag. We do not send out 3 individual bags with 500 in each. This goes for all seeds unless they are listings of different seeds.
