Lactuca sativa (33 days) Tango is a curled baby leaf variety that has a crisp, clean texture and holds up well with numerous salad dressings. A true "oak leaf" shaped lettuce that is lime green, deeply lobed and frilly. A vitamin rich variety that is perfect when harvested young. Keep planting every few week for a continuous harvest. Recommended for spring and fall plantings. Bolts early in the summer heat. Fast and easy to grow.
For earliest starts, begin lettuce seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before final frost. Plant 2-3 seeds 1/4" deep and 2" apart in Organically rich, well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Lettuce seeds germinate in 7-10 days, thinning back to 1 plant every 4 in the garden. Harvest large outer leaves while allowing smaller leaves to continue to mature.
Make sure to allow enough space between seeds for the lettuce to grow, as overcrowding can cause the lettuce to have a bitter taste. Firm the soil lightly. While growing, keep the soil well watered. Harvest between 65 and 75 days after planting, and before flowers appear, to ensure the lettuce doesn't become too mature.
All of our seeds are fresh every year and are tested every 2 months for viability and germination therefore we know for a fact that any seeds we have up for sale are fresh and have high germination rates. Therefore we are NOT responsible for your growing methods or any weather issues or environmental issues that may cause your seeds not to grow or bad growing methods. There are numerous things that can cause seeds not to germinate, too much water, not enough water, growing in wrong season, heat, cold and many more causes so we will not in any way be responsible for your seeds not growing since we know our seeds are fresh and we grow them ourselves every 2 months.
All multiple orders of the same seed are put in the same bag. For example if you order 500 beefsteak tomato seeds x 3 then 1500 seeds will be put in the same bag. We do not send out 3 individual bags with 500 in each. This goes for all seeds unless they are listings of different seeds.
