Tokyo Bekana is a loose-head Chinese cabbage from Japan. The spring-green leaves curl at the edges and mature with slim white stems that widen at the base. Grow baby leaf greens year round with protection from cold temperatures. Popular for micro-greens.

Asian brassica somewhat like Pak Choi, but with narrower petioles and larger ruffled, light green leaves. Wonderful addition to salads or baby green mixes, or grow on to maturity for stir-fries. Harvest anywhere from microgreen, through baby green, to full maturity. Easy to grow in spring, summer, or fall. Tolerant of light frost.

Cool season annual
Maturity: Approx. 30 days (10-20 days for baby leaf)
Planting season: Late spring; or early summer/fall

Grow in clumps about 12-18 inches apart. Use straw mulch to hold in soil moisture. Start 4-6 weeks before the first frost for a fall harvest. For a spring harvest, start seeds 4 weeks ahead of the last frost. You can harvest and allow to regrow over a period of a couple weeks as long as the weather permits. Cut leafy greens 3-4 inches from the ground and allow sufficient time to regrow.

All multiple orders of the same seed are put in the same bag. For example if you order 500 beefsteak tomato seeds x 3 then 1500 seeds will be put in the same bag. We do not send out 3 individual bags with 500 in each. This goes for all seeds unless they are listings of different seeds.
